Discovering Amber Fort’s Grandeur 2026

Back to wall

India is home to more than a billion people thronging the country. In the northwest region of India lies Rajasthan, with its capital city Jaipur.

Jaipur is also called the Pink City for a meaningful reason, as the city has countless buildings in pink. This tradition began when early architecture used pink sandstone, inspiring generations of residents to paint their own houses in the same rosy hue. When we arrived in the city, the sky was clean, the air was pure, and the birds soaring above were magnificent. Being mesmerised by the city, we moved on to our destination, which was the Amber Fort. This historic fort is located 11 kilometres from the city of Jaipur.

The Amber Fort was an extremely beautiful place with incredible infrastructure. As we entered the gates of the fort, we were in awe of the fort. The tall walls, huge gates, intricately designed architecture, and countless street vendors made the place lively. Our Journey Mentor helped us learn and visualise the lives of the kings and queens. While visiting the fort, we also came across multiple artefacts and paintings that described ancient hunting scenes, floral designs, and portraits of the Rajput rulers. These paintings were showcased in areas like Diwan-e-Aam, Ganesh Pol, and Sukh Niwas. Moreover, we were amused by the fact that the Sukh Niwas has an architectural design which makes it cool during the summer.

One of the most interesting parts of this journey was visiting the Sheesh Mahal, also known as the Palace of Mirrors. The place is an architectural wonder because of the glass decorations, mirror work, and marble carvings. Overall, we learnt a lot from this journey, and we would like to thank EdTerra for planning this journey, providing us guidance, and making our journey so memorable.
