A Journey to Mussoorie 2023
Our trip to Mussoorie, the queen of the hills, will forever remain etched in our memories. The place offers a plethora of attractions to explore. We went to Mussoorie and its nearby attractions to experience the beauty, culture and traditions of Uttarakhand. Our journey became more enjoyable because of our Journey Mentors. It was a fun experience which left us reluctant to leave this enchanting place.
On reaching Dehradun after long hours of travelling, we reached Robber’s Cave, which has a natural cave-like formation. It derives its name from a popular belief that it was once used as a hideout by robbers and dacoits to stash their loot and escape. The following day, our adventure-seeking spirits were put to the test with thrilling activities such as zip-lining and rope courses.
On the third day, we went to Mall Road, which is the main commercial and entertainment hub of the town and offers a range of attractions, shops, hotels, eateries and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. We learnt that Mussoorie was established by the British in the 19th century as a summer retreat during the colonial era. The town still retains its colonial charm, evident in its architecture, buildings and churches.
Continuing our journey, we set out from our hotel towards the main attraction of Mussoorie, the Gun Hill Point. Over there, we had Maggie noodles while enjoying the serene ambiance that brought a sense of tranquillity to our minds. As the last day approached, we were in no mood to go back, despite missing our families. The highlight was the lively DJ night, which brought us immense joy and marked the perfect end to our adventure-filled excursion.
