On our school trip to Jim Corbett, we learnt about the art of Mandalas. Mandalas are sacred, circular drawings that mean “circle” in Sanskrit. We were encouraged to make Mandala art as a part of our outdoor activity. For which wee created flower-shaped patterns and circular patterns using beautiful and unique stones and pebbles.

We kept in mind that Mandalas are known for their symmetrical patterns. So, we began with making a flower, followed by a circle surrounding it. Next, we made zig-zag patterns and again made a circle around. We observed the patterns and shapes repeating one after the other, looking like petals around a flower. Nature mandala art reminds us that nature itself is an artist. It teaches us to care for the environment and notice the small, beautiful things around us.

We also used some flowers and leaves to beautify our mandala art, making it even prettier. We found those materials fallen on the ground, which made it easy to decorate our mandalas. Through this, we learnt another way to respect the gifts of nature. We also found some small stones that we used to improve our artwork. The natural colors and textures made our mandalas unique and special. This art helped us connect with nature and appreciate its beauty. Creating nature mandalas encouraged our creativity, patience, and mindfulness. This way, we realized the beauty and value of the resources that we are blessed with.
