Trip of a Lifetime 2023

Back to wall

When our school decided to send us, the students of class XII, to Dudhwa National Park and Lucknow for our last school trip together, all of us were very excited to travel and have fun with our friends. On the first day of the journey, we left our school in the morning at around 7:00 a.m. Everyone was still recovering from their sleep when the journey began. We stopped at the renowned Moga Dhaba for our breakfast. We resumed our journey and reached Dudhwa Palms Resort. We had a delicious lunch and made ourselves comfortable after checking into our rooms. We spent the rest of the day exploring the resort and overcoming our tiredness. The next day, we woke up early and went for a jungle safari. We were divided into teams of six and were assigned very knowledgeable guides. The safari went smoothly.

We learnt that Dudhwa National Park is a national park and wildlife reserve located in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated along the Indo-Nepal border in the foothills of the Himalayas. The vegetation in Dudhwa National Park is predominantly tropical-moist and deciduous. Dudhwa is the last remnant of the Terai region, one of the most endangered ecosystems on the planet. Forty-seven species of mammals are found at Dudhwa; of which thirteen species are endangered. The park is home to a diverse population of avifauna, including 350 species, some of which are migratory birds that visit the forest during the winter. The park’s main flora consists of sal, asna, jamun and bahera. Some major wetlands are perennial and retain some surface moisture throughout the year. Even though we did not get to see any tigers, it was still refreshing as we got a chance to observe the natural beauty of the environment.

We had our breakfast after this enriching experience and left for Lucknow. After some inconvenience and a lot of waiting, we finally reached our hotel, The Regnant, Lucknow.

This fabulous trip was a great way to relax and take a break from the academic pressure. Moreover, as it was our last school trip, it was a bigger reason for us to have fun and cherish the entire trip.
