Our school trip to the Taj Mahal in Agra was both exciting and educational. Shah Jahan built this monument in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Begum. It stands proudly on the banks of the Yamuna River. Among the New Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal is admired not only for its beauty but also as a symbol of love.

As we approached the Taj Mahal, a grand entrance gateway greeted us and slowly revealed the stunning white marble mausoleum in the distance. Its perfect symmetry and balanced proportions reflect the extraordinary planning and architectural mastery of the Mughal era. Every element, from the central dome to the surrounding minarets, was designed with precision and harmony.

One of the most fascinating facts we learnt was that the marble surface changes colour throughout the day as the sunlight shifts its angle. We spent time admiring its beauty, especially the delicate carvings and intricate inlay work on those precious stones.

Beautiful Mughal Gardens surrounded the monument, designed in the Charbagh style to represent paradise on earth. Reflecting pools, fountains, and symmetrical pathways created a sense of peace and tranquillity across the entire complex. This visit helped us understand the rich history and cultural heritage of India. The Taj Mahal stands as a timeless symbol of love, artistry, and architectural brilliance. Visiting it was an inspiring experience that filled us with pride and gave us memories we will always treasure.
