Kasauli: A Journey to Remember 2026

Back to wall

On 18 May, we, the Grade 7 students of The Shriram Millennium School, set off on a journey that turned into a truly memorable experience. We were fortunate to visit Kasauli, a mesmerising hill town located in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. We were excited from the beginning because this trip gave us a chance to learn outside the classroom and experience the beauty of the hills.

Kasauli is surrounded by dense forest cover and is home to several species of Himalayan flora and fauna. We learnt that Kasauli is also known for its panoramic views of the plains on one side and the higher Himalayan ranges on the other. This made us look at the landscape with even more interest. When we arrived, we were left speechless by the scenic views, fresh air and peaceful ambience.

After settling into our rooms, we set off on an excursion to Christ Church. We were amazed to learn that Christ Church is one of the old colonial landmarks of Kasauli and is known for its beautiful architecture. Its calm surroundings and historic charm made the visit special. We also visited Mall Road, where we enjoyed exploring the shops and trying our bargaining skills. On the second day, we woke up to the chirping of birds and the fresh smell of petrichor. After a nutritious breakfast, we got into cars and went to Mohan Shakti Heritage Park. We visited the temple inside the park and were awestruck by its beautiful surroundings, peaceful atmosphere and grand architecture. After offering our prayers to the deities, we headed back to our resort for a night under the stars.

Surrounded by pine, oak and rhododendron trees, Kasauli felt calm and refreshing. We also learnt that Kasauli was established as a cantonment town during the British period, which explains its colonial charm. For us, Kasauli became more than just a destination. It became a journey filled with learning, laughter and memories that we will always cherish.
