Improve Nature While Embracing It 2026

Back to wall

During our trip to Pangot, we were introduced to the concept of Nature Mandalas. Nature Mandalas are created in groups through shared ideas and equal participation. The activity helps enhance leadership qualities among students while encouraging teamwork and collaboration. Creating this form of art requires focus and creativity, teaching students lessons far more meaningful than those found in textbooks.

Every nature mandala begins with a circle, which acts as the central focus and symbolises unity. The art form brings together different natural elements like leaves, flowers, stones, and twigs into one circular design, showing how every part depends on the others. To create our own nature mandala, we were given a resource kit by EdTerra consisting of a jute bag, jute rope, a measuring rope, and hand sanitiser.

Through the mandala we created, we wanted to convey the connection between urban life and nature. We also wanted to show how rocks and stones, often discarded as useless, can be transformed into something meaningful. This proved to us that everything has value when it is nurtured and protected properly. The design we created reflected harmony between different natural elements and forces. Overall, we learnt the importance of maintaining cleanliness and conserving natural resources. We also discovered that nature mandala art is based on the principles of collaborative leadership, interconnectedness, mindfulness, and balance. It was a wonderful and memorable experience through which we learnt many new things.
