The Extraordinary Secrets of Hyderabad 2024

Back to wall

Greetings to all! Today we will take you through our journey of Hyderabad guided by EdTerra Edventures. We visited monuments like the Charminar, Qutb Shahi Tombs, Golconda Fort, Salar Jung Museum, and Shilparamam Art and Craft Village.

The first day of our journey started with a visit to the Charminar. It is one of the most iconic monuments of Hyderabad and was built by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah in 1591. Next, we visited the Golconda Fort which is located in the Western part of Hyderabad. We were informed by our guide that originally it was built as a stone fort on the top of a hill by a Kakatiya ruler in 1143. Later, it was fortified between the 14th and 17th centuries by the Bahmani Sultans and then the ruling Qutb Shahi dynasty.

The next stop in our Hyderabad journey was the Qutb Shahi Tombs. We were amazed to know that the tomb is 500 years old and has many mosques built around it. Post this, we paid a visit to the Salar Jung Museum which contains around 40,000 art objects. The most famous article in the museum was the marble statue of “Veiled Rebecca”, which belongs to the 19th century. Originally, the museum was inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1951. On the last day of our journey, we visited the Birla Science Museum and witnessed a show about the outer universe and galaxies.

Finally, we want to convey that our trip to Hyderabad was very interesting and insightful. Attractions like the Golconda Fort, Charminar and Chowmahalla Palace are rich in history and should be preserved for future generations.
