Our trip was all about spending time with friends and discovering new places together. During our journey, we visited Sukhna Lake, the Chhatbir Zoo, and the Rock Garden, each experience adding something special to our memories.
The trip began with an early morning bus journey that lasted about six hours. It was a memorable ride as we danced, played games, shared snacks, and made new friends along the way. Our first stop was Chhatbir Zoo, where we saw a wide variety of animals and birds. We also learnt that the Chhatbir Zoo was inaugurated on 13 April 1977 by the then Governor of Punjab, Mahendra Mohan Choudhury. Walking through the zoo felt like being inside a mini forest. We got a chance to observe tigers, lions, deer, and many other species in their natural surroundings, which helped us understand the importance of conserving wildlife.
Next, we visited Sukhna Lake, a calm and beautiful place where we admired the still water and the scenic views around it. We also enjoyed trying some of the delicious local food that Chandigarh is known for. Later, we went to the Rock Garden, where we were amazed to see an artificial waterfall and creative statues made from recycled materials. Interestingly, the Rock Garden is also known as Nek Chand Saini’s Rock Garden of Nathupur.
This trip will always be memorable for us, not only because of the wonderful places we explored, but also because of the friendship and unforgettable moments we shared together.
