Our Educational Trip to Kanatal 2026

Our educational trip to Kanatal and Dhanaulti in Uttarakhand was an unforgettable journey filled with adventure, learning, and peace. Surrounded by pine forests, misty mountains, and cool fresh air, Bamboo Junction resort welcomed us with breathtaking views and a calm atmosphere far away from city life.The beautiful drive through the Garhwal hills made the journey even more magical and exciting.

One of the most interesting activities on the trip was the solar observation session. We were divided into eight teams with nine members each and were given information booklets and astro field logbooks to record our experiences. Using UV protected telescopes, we safely observed the sun and learned fascinating facts about sunspots and the enormous size of the sun. At night, we enjoyed an incredible stargazing experience where we observed Venus and Jupiter along with some of Jupiter’s moons through telescopes.

Venus appeared rainbow coloured and half-lit while Jupiter looked bright and beautiful in the dark sky. Another memorable experience was visiting the sacred Surkanda Devi Temple. The ringing bells, glowing diyas, sounds of dhols, and cool mountain breeze created a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere that filled everyone with positivity and devotion.

This trip was much more than just a school excursion. It gave us the opportunity to explore astronomy, experience spirituality, and connect with nature all at once. From observing the wonders of space to enjoying peaceful mountain evenings near the bonfire, every moment became a cherished memory. This journey taught us that travel is not only about reaching a destination, but also about the experiences and learning we gather along the way.
