Ranthambore: Touring a Learning Destination 2023

Back to wall

Ranthambore National Park is home to 315 species of birds (both resident and migratory), 38 species of mammals, 11 species of reptiles and 10 species of fish. The world-famous Royal Bengal Tiger is also found here. Tigers are solitary animals that claim territory spanning up to a hundred square miles. The national park is known for ‘Machli,’ the queen tigress who was acclaimed for killing a 14-foot-long crocodile.

Nestled within the national park is one of the most iconic historical sites, the Ranthambore Fort, also called the Forest Fort. It is one of the oldest forts in Rajasthan. The fort harbours numerous religious sites, including the Trinetra Ganesha Temple and offers a majestic view of the Padam Talao. One of the great legends around the fort tells of Alauddin Khilji’s false rumours about King Hammir Deo’s demise, which led to the queens performing the ritual of jauhar to protect their honour.

After enough insight into history, let’s move to the fun part of our journey. We stayed in Puratan Qila, one of the best resorts in Ranthambore. It offers one of the best nightlife experiences, featuring folk dances, music and a DJ. Additionally, guests can savour the rich flavours of Rajasthani cuisine, including dishes like dal bati choorma and laal maans.

In a nutshell, we want to encourage all the students to plan a trip to Ranthambore if they wish to experience the heart of India. Whether you are interested in history, culture or biodiversity, Ranthambore has it all.
