Slide f f From The Editor's Desk
Dear Readers,

Welcome to the inaugural edition of CLASSROAM — EdTerra's annual magazine bringing together the ideas and people shaping experiential learning in schools today.

Sixteen years of school partnerships have taken us from simple travel reflections to an ecosystem of student podcasts, films, and books — backed by purposeful learning design, safety frameworks, and technology.

The Classroam Media Awards (2023) and Classroam Circles of Excellence (2025), which offer educators scholarships with IIM Indore and IIM Kozhikode, are expressions of the same commitment. This magazine is the next organic step — a conversation for school leaders and educators who believe learning should be real, rigorous, and joyful. Heartfelt thanks to Shri Vikas Swarup for our cover story; to contributors Minakshi Kushwaha, Uttara Singh, Ashley Eates, Miti Dhingra, Anupma Singh, Shalini John, Mary Mahendri, Mala Gupta, and Sudha Sadangi; to Dr Ameeta Mulla Wattal for a precise and thought-provoking interview; and to Mrs Usha Chopra for inspiring our photo-essay. May these pages inform, inspire, and strengthen the vision we are building together.

From the Director’s Desk

Mr Shonu Chandra, Director

As the founding director of EdTerra, it is a privilege to witness how young minds construct their own ideas and understanding through meaningful exposure to our planet’s ecological, historical, and cultural diversity. The Classroam Media Awards exemplify the essence of experiential learning by providing students with a platform to reflect, create, and express their unique perspectives.

Each media project— blog, podcast, travel journal, book, or vlog— captures the essence of their discoveries while serving as a lasting testimony of their learning journey and skill demonstrations. These projects embody the culmination of their experiences, showcasing their growth in collaboration, creativity, and effective communication.

By recognizing these exceptional projects, the Classroam Media Awards encourage students to view learning as an adventure beyond the classroom, equipping them to become informed and inspired leaders who can make meaningful contributions to society.

Slide About Classroam Media Awards The Classroam Media Awards is a prestigious initiative by EdTerra to recognize and celebrate the exceptional media projects created by students during their educational journeys. These awards aim to highlight the creativity, collaboration, and storytelling skills of young minds as they document their experiences through various media formats such as videos, podcasts, blogs, and photo essays.
With a focus on fostering media literacy, the Classroam Media Awards provides a platform for students to showcase their ability to communicate their learnings, explore new perspectives, and engage with real-world topics in innovative ways. Each submission is evaluated by a panel of industry experts from education, journalism, and media, ensuring that creativity and content excellence are duly acknowledged.
