Our Experience Visiting Viratkhai 2024

Back to wall

After returning from our camping trip to Viratkhai, we have to say that it is one of our favourite places to visit. In this blog, we will be emphasising on the survival skills that we learnt through various activities, and how it shaped our character and morals.

We arrived at the campsite at approximately 8 in the morning. We were given a break till 12:30 pm, after which we went for a trek. The trek was the best activity there. Before the trek, we had our lunch and the instructor briefed us of things we should do and not do during the trek. It included how much water we should consume and how we should stay on the mountain side, instead of the valley side. When we reached the top and saw the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains, it made us realise what life is like beyond social media and mobile phones.

On the second day, we did various activities like multi-vine, ziplining, tree climbing, knot making, and most importantly, first aid skills and making stretchers. On the third day, a mega challenge was held between the six teams. In the mega challenge, the team had to make tents from scratch using wood, stones, scraps, and rope.

This trip to Viratkhai was the best school trip we ever had. The food was good and homely. The activities were nothing like we had ever done before. The mentors, like Aman sir, were the best. They treated us like their friends while keeping us disciplined. They monitored and helped those who were scared of doing the activities. We will definitely come back to Viratkhai whenever we get the chance.
