Discover Nature and Cultures at Dharamshala 2024

Back to wall

We all have heard of the phrase “nature heals”, but have all of us experienced it too? If yes, I’m sure you know how soothing it is, but if not, discover how nature and culture can help you heal at Dharamshala.

We all find history and culture to be a very boring topic, but let me begin by sharing a few interesting facts about Dharamshala. Dharamshala comes from the word ‘dharma’ meaning duty or religious law and ‘shala’ means house or shelter. Dharamshala literally translates to a sanctuary or house of Dharma.

Dharamshala is home to a lot of cultures and pilgrims. Dharamshala has been mentioned in ancient Hindu texts like the Rig Veda and the Mahabharata. St John Church in Dharamshala is a very old church built in 1852 by the British and has many memorial stones. Dharamshala is also famous for attracting many Buddhist pilgrims. Buddhism follows the belief that human life is a cycle of suffering and rebirth.

The nature and weather in Dharamshala is so pleasant that it helps you catch a break from the hustle of the city. The sunrise and sunset are so stunning that you would never want to miss it. The Bhagsu Nag waterfall is beautiful and you may even end up splashing water all over yourself and your travel partners.

Visiting Dharamshala a great way to see and explore a diverse set of cultures along with nature’s beauty. It is a great way to heal yourself mentally. I had a really good time here. The beautiful sights here helped me relax. We also got to learn a lot about various traditions people follow around the world. It’s a good way to meet new people and discover cultural diversity.
