What Wikipedia Can’t Tell You About Lucknow and Dudhwa 2023

Back to wall

Divine is not the only word that can be used to describe the magnificent city of Lucknow. It is a city with vast history, culture and heritage. It is home to monuments and tourist spots like Bada and Chota Imabara, Gomti Riverfront Park and British Residency. Our visit to Dudhwa National Park was like a journey through the wilderness. This exciting combination of visiting a wildlife sanctuary and a city with a rich history was a perfect combination for learning and fun.

Dudhwa National Park is a wildlife reserve located in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. Its area is protected under the World Wildlife Fund Landscape Program, which aims to protect and connect wildlife habitats across the Indo-Nepal borders. Travelling in a jeep for the jungle safari was a wonderful experience. We could spot birds, monkeys, spotted deer and elephants. The vegetation there is predominantly tropical. Our safari experience was so blissful and refreshing that we wished never to leave the serenity of the wonderful national park.

Our visit to Lucknow was another exquisite experience that left us with memories and learnings. Lucknow is similar to many cities in India yet very different because of its authentic culture and the unique mannerisms of its people. We got to visit a monument called Bara Imambara. The Bhool Bhulaiya and Shahi Baoli are some of the attractions here. We got the opportunity to explore its infrastructure and had an interesting experience while paving our way to decode the maze. We also visited the Chotta Imambara aka the Palace of Lights. Its facade is decorated with Quranic verses written in Islamic calligraphic style. It was a memorable experience. It was a sunny day, and we were tired. The beauty of these monuments left us mesmerised.

All in all, our trip to Lucknow and Dudhwa National Park was a perfect combination of adventure, learning and fun. Our grade had a number of students and a plethora of tasks, where some people were nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, while others were history lovers and some were just foodies. This was an unforgettable experience and we are left with memories that can be cherished for a lifetime.
