Our Trip to Majkhali, Ranikhet 2024

We went on a summer camping trip to Majkhali, Ranikhet in Uttarakhand. We enjoyed the activities of the camp and the surrounding nature. At the camp, everything was hygienic and clean.

Majkhali village, situated in Uttarakhand, generally has a temperate climate. When we were there, the weather was moderate. During the day, it was usually sunny and then after sunset, the weather cooled down. It was a respite from the heat back home. The food we ate at the camp was very delicious and hygienic. It was made with love and care. We ate fruits like khaphal and arucha, which were sour and sweet. We loved the taste of these fruits and also got to pluck them out of trees ourselves.

At the camp, we learnt about a lot of things like survival in the wilderness, shelter making (which required us to make 6 different tents), LNT principles, handling medical emergencies, and first aid awareness. The activities and adventures the camp provided us with were exciting and it taught us a lot. We enjoyed activities like zipline, multivine, double rope bridge, trekking, and cooking in the wilderness with limited resources. We started each day with morning exercises. We were also able to gain skills in collaboration and flexibility as we worked as a team for many activities and challenges.

So, overall, our experience was fun and educational. Our team was full of enthusiasm. Majkhali was very calming and the ambience of the camp was mesmerising. We enjoyed the culture and peace of the place.
